    Etymology: Echeveria Black Affinis PlantThe specific epithet “affinis” (pronounced “uh-FEE-niss”) means “neighboring, allied to, kindred” and refers to the resemblance of this species to Echeveria craigiana.

    Origin

    Echeveria affinis is native to Mexico (Durango, Sinaloa).

    Description

    Echeveria affinis is an attractive succulent that forms dense, short-stemmed rosettes of thick, fleshy, pointed leaves. The rosettes can grow up to 6 inches (15 cm) in diameter. The brownish-olive leaves are yellowish-green at the base. They are somewhat upcurved above the middle, measuring up to 2 inches (5 cm) in length and 0.8 inches (2 cm) in width.

    The bell-shaped flowers are bright red and appear in clusters on upright stems during the summer.
